HONGKONG DOLLAR'S WITHDRAWAL: GOVERNOR GENERAL'S STATEMENT Hongkong: An intimation that the Hongkong dollar will sooner or later be withdrawn from circula- tion was made today by Lt. Gen. Rensuke Isogai, Governor General of Hongkong in reply to a question by Chinese newspapermen regarding the future status of the Hongkong dollar. The Governor General said that recent exchange restrictions regarding the Hongkong dollar had been removed because they hampered trade transactions, thus inconveniencing the inhabitants.
